The Psi Chi Officers are really happy with what the group has accomplished this term for the psychology department (the graduate school panel, t-shirt orders, and the Hodges seminar on relationships)! Great work everyone! Here are a few announcements:
- Members: you should have received an email recently announcing that we are accepting applications for Psi Chi Officers for the 2013-2014 school year. Details can be found on the home page of this website.
- We are in the process of creating a survey that we'll email out soon, asking members what they would like to see organized for next term.
- Psychology students who placed a t-shirt order should also expect an email during week 1 with details on how to pick theirs up.
Until then, good luck with finals and enjoy your spring break!

Psi Chi members! A reminder that next Tuesday, February 5 at 6:00pm in STB 146, we will be having a Graduate School Panel event. A panel made up of both professors and graduate students will be present to talk to us about how to get into graduate school and how to better prepare. They will also be doing a Q&A, so be sure to bring specific questions… this is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the graduate school process! This will be a Psi Chi members only event, so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity.

Hey everyone! Tonight at Psi Chi's meeting, we discussed:
- A graduate school panel that we are planning to put on during week 5. The officers are organizing a group of professors and graduate students to talk about how to get into graduate school, and doing a Q&A with Psi Chi members. If YOU are interested in hearing about a specific program (doctorate programs, psychiatry, clinical psychology degrees, etc.), please email any of the officers and we will try to accommodate based on interest!
- Psi Chi has secured Professor Sara Hodges to give a seminar on "Relationships" during week 8. This is open to the entire psychology department, and it's sure to be interesting! Free food is a possibility… specific date TBA.
- A reminder that Psi Chi is coordinating the psychology department t-shirt orders. Info can be found on the "Home" page. Represent UO Psychology for the low price of $10!
- We also discussed making networking with other students easier (in order to talk about research opportunities, practicums, courses, etc.). After the meeting, the officers discovered that the Psi Chi Facebook group is difficult to search for, because of its settings. The officers will be working to create a new, easily accessible Facebook group this week.
We appreciate the members who came to discuss Psi Chi! A reminder to feel free to email any of the officers if you have any: questions, suggestions, or specific interests in Psi Chi/the psychology department!

Hello! The Psi Chi Officers hope everyone had a nice relaxing break! We have a lot of events and projects planned for winter term, so we'd like to give you guys an outline of what to expect from the group:
- Our President sent out an email to all Psi Chi members, but just as another reminder: there will be a MANDATORY PSI CHI MEETING next Tuesday, January 15 at 6pm in Straub 146. It will be as brief as possible. The officers want to discuss our expectations and ideas for the term, and we also want to hear YOUR ideas and suggestions for what you'd like to get from Psi Chi. If you cannot make this meeting, please email Maddy Barry.
- Psi Chi is coordinating a Psychology Department t-shirt fundraiser. Specific info can be found on the "Home" page of this site. The t-shirts look groovy and cost only $10, so there's really no excuse to not order one! Order forms are also on the "Home" page, and will be due (along with payments) Friday of week 7 (February 22) in the Peer Advising office in Straub. If you have any questions regarding t-shirt orders, please email Patrick Browne.
- We are currently trying to secure a department professor to give a seminar on sex/relationships/some other scandalous topic. We are aiming for it to happen during week 4, so stay tuned!
- Multiple members have mentioned they would like to learn more about grad school through Psi Chi, so we are organizing a graduate school panel. Faculty members and graduate students will be present to talk about graduate school opportunities and how to apply/ get in. There will also be a Q&A so members can ask specific questions. We are aiming to put this on during week 8.

Welcome to the new UO Psi Chi website. The officers are trying to get everything organized for the year, but we are working hard to put together some pretty exciting things for these upcoming months. Things to keep your eyes open for:
- We are currently designing T-SHIRTS to help represent the entire Psychology Department on campus. Open to all majors, minors, and faculty! Estimated costs per shirt will be around $8. The design and order information should be up near week 7 of fall term. More info to come!
- Our President, Maddy Barry, recently created a UO Psi Chi Facebook group in order to help us connect as a chapter. The link is: http://www.facebook.com/groups/uopsichi/
- We are planning to put on a special seminar around week 8. It will be on a special topic (criminal psychology and human sexuality have been discussed..), and we will be having a guest lecturer from the department speak on the subject. We are working with psychology professors to offer course extra credit for attendance to this event, so plan on attending..
- We are organizing a holiday social event near the end of fall term to help members meet and get to know each other. Free food will be provided!!
